Jim Spohrer, ISSIP Ambassador to Association of Computer Machinery, ACM,  and ISSIP Ambassador to IBM Almaden Service Research.

Dr Jim Spohrer is the IBM Innovation Champion and Director of the IBM University Programs Worldwide. He was the founding Director of service research at IBM and has widely published on service science and engineering. He received his undergraduate degree in Physics from MIT and his PhD in Computer Science/Artificial Intelligence from Yale University.

In 2006, Jim Spohrer co-edited a special issue of the Communications of the ACM on Service Science.  Two of the papers in that issue where among the most highly cited CACM articles from that year.  Since then Jim has been encouraging service science researchers who are also members of the ACM to submit papers to ACM, and contribute to Service Computing curriculum development, including service-oriented architectures, web services, software-as-a-service, and service systems as a type of physical-symbol-system.
