Carlos Pignataro, Chief Technology Officer for Cisco’s nearly $13B Customer Experience (CX)organization, is a technology leader who has spent his career as a CTO and Cisco Distinguished Engineer connecting the “bleeding edge” to business. It begins with innovation, which he believes is pivotal to sustainable growth. In addition to driving the technology strategy trajectory, Carlos believes that orchestrating solutions with ownership of the outcome, building mindshare through thought leadership and evangelism, and shepherding top technologists and talent are central to success.

Carlos has built a 20+ year career driven by a passion and curiosity for technology excellence, outside-in thinking and creating opportunity for technical professionals. He has co-invented more than two hundred and fifty patents (issued and pending with the USPTO), co-authored over fifty Internet Requests for Comments (RFCs), is a Fellow at the National Academy of Inventors, and holds multiple industry leadership roles. Carlos spreads the wealth, serving as an adjunct faculty at North Carolina State University. He has co-authored four books on computer networking and is a much sought-after speaker at Cisco and industry events around the world.
