Dr. Christoph Heitz, ISSIP Ambassador to the Swiss Institute of Service Science

Christoph Heitz holds a PhD of theoretical physics from University of Freiburg, Germany. He is professor for Operations Management at the Institute of Data Analysis and Process Design (IDP) at Zurich University of Applied Sciences. He is founding member and part of the executive board of this institute. In the academic years 2007-08 and 2012-13 he was visiting professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz, USA.

In 2008, he founded the Swiss Institute of Service Science (www.servicescience.ch), an interdisciplinary research institute consisting of more the 40 researchers from the disciplines management, engineering, and social sciences. The focus of the institute is on applied research in service innovation, helping Swiss service companies developing and delivering better services. Since 2008, he is president of this institute.

His publications include contributions in the fields of operations management, high voltage engineering and signal analysis. He is inventor or co-inventor of 11 international patents. He is founder or co-founder of three Swiss innovation-based service companies.
