ISSIP Announces the 2018 Excellence in Service Innovation Award Winners

Santa Clara, California, June 19, 2018 — The International Society of Service Innovation Professionals (ISSIP), the leading association for today’s digital services professional, announces the winner of the 2018 Excellence in Service Innovation.

 

The winners of the 2018 ISSIP Excellence in Service Innovation Awards are:

IBM, “Data Analytical Toolset for enterprise IT Service Deals’ Solutioning” for Excellence for Service Innovation with Impact to Business;

University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and University of Kassel, Germany, “Edu4Inno: An educational service system for generating new services and corresponding business models” for Excellence in Service Innovation with Impact to Society

 

The Award is given once each year to companies or organizations that have designed, developed, or deployed novel solutions that, in the judgment of the ISSIP Award Committee, are the most innovative of all of the submissions for that year in their category.

“ISSIP is proud to recognize the winning teams’ outstanding dedication to service innovation which should serve as an inspiration to others across the industry.” said Yassi Moghaddam, ISSIP executive director. “The winning submission from the IBM team has demonstrated how data science and analytics can be successfully applied to improve IT Service Solutions, enhancing customer and stakeholder value co-creation,  as well as business impact. Also, the winning submission from the University of St. Gallen and University of Kassel,  is a clear demonstration how a collaborative effort has led to an innovative education program needed for organizations to succeed in the 21st century.”

“We are honored to receive this ISSIP award for using AI to create new analytical tools that have helped IBM meet client needs more effectively — and resulted in measurable business impact,” said Aly Megahed, research staff member at IBM Research – Almaden. “This recognition, coupled with several associated patents and peer-reviewed articles, help validate the novelty of the underlying AI-based methods we used to create these tools.”
