Backgrounds:

Sarit Kraus (Ph.D. Computer Science, Hebrew University, 1989) is a Professor of Computer Science at Bar-Ilan University. Her research is focused on intelligent agents and multi-agent systems (including people and robots). For her work she received many prestigious awards. She was awarded the IJCAI Computers and Thought Award, the ACM SIGART Agents Research award, the EMET prize and was twice the winner of the IFAAMAS influential paper award. She is an ACM, AAAI and ECCAI fellow and a recipient of the advanced ERC grant. She also received a special commendation from the city of Los Angeles, together with Prof. Tambe, Prof. Ordonez and their USC students, for the creation of the ARMOR security scheduling system. She has published over 350 papers in leading journals and major conferences and co-authored five books. She is a member of the board of directors of the International Foundation for Multi-agent Systems (IFAAMAS) and was IJCAI 2019 program chair.

Francesca Rossi is the IBM AI Ethics Global Leader and a Distinguished Research Staff Member at IBM Research. Her research interests focus on artificial intelligence, including constraint reasoning, preferences, multi-agent systems, computational social choice, and collective decision making.  She has published over 190 scientific articles in journals and conference proceedings, and as book chapters. She has co-authored a book and she has edited 17 volumes, between conference proceedings, collections of contributions, special issues of journals, and a handbook. She is a fellow of both the worldwide association of AI (AAAI) and of the European one (EurAI). She has been president of IJCAI (International Joint Conference on AI), an executive councillor of AAAI, and the Editor in Chief of the Journal of AI Research. She is a member of the scientific advisory board of the Future of Life Institute (Cambridge, USA) and a deputy director of the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence (Cambridge, UK). She is a member of the European Commission High Level Expert Group on AI and the general chair of the AAAI 2020 conference.

Biplav Srivastava is a Distinguished Data Scientist and Master Inventor at IBM’s Chief Analytics Office. With over two decades of research experience in Artificial Intelligence, Services Computing and Sustainability, most of which was at IBM Research, Biplav is also an ACM Distinguished Scientist and Distinguished Speaker, and IEEE Senior Member. Biplav is exploring new approaches for goal-oriented, ethical, human-machine collaboration via natural interfaces using domain and user models, learning, and planning. He is leading efforts for adoption of AI technologies in a large-scale global business context and understand their impact on workforce. Biplav received MS and PhD from Arizona State University, USA and B.Tech. from IIT-BHU, India, all in Computer Science.
