Dr. Kazuyoshi Hidaka is professor of School of Environment and Society, Tokyo Institute of Technology, President of Society for Serviceology, Editor in Chief of Journal of Serviceology, Fellow of Information Processing Society of Japan, member of Scientific Advisory Board of AHFE/HSSE, member of International Advisory Committee of Spring Servitization Conference in UK, member of the IEEE, and member of Operations Research Society of Japan, and was professor of School of Knowledge Science, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, member of technology board of New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Program Advisor of Research Institute of Science and Technology for Society (RISTEX) in Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).   Previously, he had worked for IBM Research – Tokyo, from 1984 through 2009, and led research projects in optimization technology, discrete algorithms, mathematical science, business solutions, computational organization theory, and service science. Following an assignment at IBM’s Watson Research Center in the U.S., he was promoted to senior manager of business services research. He had been the member of global leadership team of Service Science, Management, and Engineering (SSME) in IBM, and lead global and Japanese strategy of service science in IBM.  He holds a D.Sc. degree, completed a graduate course in energy science at the Graduate School of Tokyo Institute of Technology in March 1984, and obtained a dissertation doctorate in information science from Waseda University’s Graduate School in March 1996.  In 2016 at HICSS conference, he received an ISSIP Award for bringing scientific and technology innovation to an increasingly global research and education market place.

As ISSIP VP, I will work closely with the ISSIP Executive Leadership Team to expand ISSIP member activities worldwide by bringing new insights from global perspectives based on the academic and industry experience in Asian service environment.  I will work with the current and past ISSIP President to prioritize ISSIP project initiatives and expand the number of volunteers from Asia working with ISSIP members globally on those projects.
