ISSIP Member and Co-Chair of Education & Research SIG Receives Top-Honors

Congratulations to our member and Co-Chair of Education & Research SIG, Dr. Haluk Demirkan, who has just been ranked 6th in Top-100 Rankings of World-wide Information Systems Researchers according to the Association for Information Systems sanctioned World-wide Research Rankings (based his last 2 years of publication record in 2 premier IS journals JMIS & JAIS).

ISSIP to Launch Emeritus Program

ISSIP Member Rick McMaster is working with ISSIP Executive Director Yassi Moghaddam on the design of ISSIP’s soon to be announced ISSIP Fellow Emeritus Program. We will keep you updated on the progress.

Upcoming Calls, Nominations, and Opportunities

1) The next ISSIP Board of Director’s meeting open to all ISSIP members to attend by phone is being planned for mid-December.

2) The ISSIP Nomination and Elections committee will be seeking nominations for future ISSIP VP Elects in early 2014.

3) ISSIP Is seeking nominations for Ambassadors to additional professional associations, service innovation-related conferences, service innovation research, education, and practice centers, etc. – please send nominations to ISSIP Executive Director Yassi Moghaddam.

4) ISSIP Members who have not done so are encouraged to complete their short 2 minute long intro videos, and upload them to YouTube.  Currently, just less than 10% of ISSIP’s registered members have completed new member intro videos.  We would like to dramatically increase that number to help differentiate ISSIP as a true 21st professional association, with social media savvy members.  Help co-create the future of service innovation – record your short 2-minute new member intro today.  (Perhaps we need an annual award for best new member intro video in several categories – best student, best industry, best faculty/academic, best other?)

5) ISSIP Reviews Committee Chair Prof. Haluk Demirkan (University of Washington) has been iterating with the ISSIP OPS Committee on a draft procedure to encourage ISSIP members to submit content (e.g., courses, certificate programs, books, papers, etc.) for review and publicity on the ISSIP website.
