Paula McCarty is the President of Tech Talk Marketing, where she and her team of professionals provide clients with cost-effective solutions to their consumer and technology marketing needs. They deliver superior, value-based offerings which include strategic market planning, market surveys, competitive intelligence & analysis, branding and collateral execution, speaker and media opportunities, and web site development.

Currently, Paula is leading Solutions Marketing efforts as a Senior Consultant for Ciena, Inc. a $2 billion optical telecommunications provider. In this capacity, Paula is leading strategic and integrated market planning for new offerings, development and execution of global go-to-market launches, training, thought leadership and customer reference programs.

Paula has over 20 years of international marketing, research and finance experience with Fortune 100 companies in the wireless technology, government defense, oilfield, and automotive industries, including Motorola Global Services, Litton Industries, Western Atlas, and Unova.  While at Motorola, Paula was responsible for strategic marketing for Motorola’s Global Professional Services portfolio, which included network support, optimization, network design, and security services.

Previously she served as a Board Member on the Educational Subcommittee for AFSMI  (Association for Services Management International) where she helped to plan their annual conference.    She also spent six years working for several premier private equity and investment firms, where she had marketing responsibilities for IPO underwritings, M&A and joint venture activities.

Ms. McCarty holds a B.A. in Political Science/international studies from Tufts University, and an M.B.A in International Marketing from Loyola Marymount University, where she graduated at the top of her class and was elected to the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. She also completed a resident Masters Certificate program in Business Administration from Harvard University, earned a Masters Certificate in International Project Management from George Washington University, and completed Ph.D. studies in Information and Computer Science from Claremont Graduate University in California.
