ISSIP is volunteer-managed and operated.  We are funded by Institutional Member/Sponsors and together pitch in our skills, time and resources, because we are passionate about Service Innovation and committed to develop our own and organizations’ capabilities and support work that benefits people, business and society.

3 Main Types of Engagement – Sponsorship, Leadership or Support Roles

If your organization is interested in collaborating with ISSIP, there are several paths to engagement and we invite you to contact ISSIP Leadership to explore possibilities to work together on an Academic Industry Collaboration project, an ISSIP Ambassadorship or Institutional Membership for your team or organization.  Click below for more information on each, and to email the ISSIP Lead for each area:

Academic/Industry Collaboration project

There are opportunities to volunteer in many areas over the course of the year.  Following are a few possibilities:

Discovery Summits

Discovery Summits are working sessions for industry, academia, and government on a range of topics related to priority trends in business and society that shape the nature of service systems innovation. 

Click here to volunteer to help with Discovery Summit organization, promotion, structuring/fielding the advance ISSIP survey, summarizing findings, or to research, draft, edit or package the White Paper incorporating findings, with insights shared on the day, and/or to assist with organizing content and scheduling social media and PR promotion.

BOD & Progress Calls

ISSIP Progress and Board of Director (BOD) calls happen twice a year, on the last Wednesday of January and July, and are one of the best ways to catch-up on a range of ISSIP activities, and better connect with ISSIP Leadership.  Click here to volunteer to assist with organizing content from ISSIP leadership, organizing in GDrive, supporting development of data for reporting and administrative requirements of hosting the global call.

ISSIP Elections Leadership

ISSIP’s immediate past president chairs the Elections Committee which will call for Vice Presidential nominees in the Fall. ISSIP members vote in the fourth quarter and we announce our winning Vice President for the coming year by year’s end. That person is typically president in the following year.  Click here to volunteer to serve along with the Executive Director and immediate past president, on the Elections committee charged with managing the process, from issuing the call for nominations, to securing relevant information from candidates, to organizing responses for Executive Committee approval of ISSIP VP.

Conference Committee

ISSIP sponsors ‘best paper’ awards and collaborates with multiple industry, government and academic conferences every year.  Click here to join the Conference Committee, which evaluates and prioritizes opportunities for ISSIP involvement with conferences annually and then manages the process of optimizing the value of each for ISSIP membership.

Membership Committee (Individuals)

Individual membership in ISSIP is no cost – just sign up. Click here to volunteer to guide continual improvement in process for welcoming and onboarding new members, securing feedback on satisfaction and recommending improvements to ISSIP Leadership. 

Membership Committee (Institutions)

Institutional membership in ISSIP has an associated financial sponsorship level – click here for more information – and to serve on the Institutional Membership Growth team.

Book Collections / Publishing

ISSIP partners with the Business Experts Press (BEP) in a program designed to assist members with writing, editing and publishing short books on topics relevant to Service Innovation.

Newsletter

Events – Event Support

ISSIP Events come in a great variety of forms, and are typically recorded (ISSIP YouTube) and presentation posted (ISSIP Slideshare), as well as a great way for ISSIP members to earn knowledge-sharing eminence badges for speaking. Volunteer Awards and Recognition

ISSIP volunteers are recognized during the twice-a-year Progress/BoD events and may earn digital credentials, in some cases. Whether you have just a hour a year or a couple hours every week of your time to donate, becoming an ISSIP volunteer is a great way to build your technical eminence in an external innovation community and professional association.
